Between the AP Poll, the Coaches Poll, the SP+ rankings, the SB Nation FanPulse FanPulse, and all of other various rankings and analytics, it can be tough to keep up with exactly where the Ohio State Buckeyes fit into the larger landscape of the college football picture.
But worry no more, because on Tuesday, the omnipotent College Football Playoff committee announced the initial rankings for the 2019 season, and the Buckeyes came in as the No. 1 team in the country. The LSU Tigers were No. 2, Alabama comes in at No. 3, and the fourth slot went to the Penn State Nittany Lions, meaning that the defending national champion Clemson Tigers were in fifth.
