COLUMBUS, Ohio – After the debacle last season against Virginia Tech, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said, "Coaches don't get surprised, they get disappointed."
Actually, in that instance they probably got both.
On Monday night, at the end of Labor Day, the Buckeyes aim to get even.
The 35-21 loss to Virginia Tech exposed a pesky deficit or two with the Buckeyes in their second game of the season. To wit:
There was no passing game because of leaky protection for quarterback J.T. Barrett, who was sacked seven times.
Barrett threw three interceptions and two touchdowns (one was returned all the way by Virginia Tech).
