Ohio State basketball: Why do the women score 16 points more per game than the men?

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Look at Saturday night, then look at Sunday.

It was a whiplash weekend for Ohio State basketball fans.

Two wins. One ugly. One beautiful.

Saturday, the Ohio State men scored 65 points in 45 minutes against Nebraska, pulling out a 65-62 overtime win on the road.

That's 1.44 points per minute.

Sunday, the Ohio State women scored 117 points in 40 minutes, destroying Illinois in the final home game of the regular season and falling two points shy of the all-time program single-game scoring record in a 117-74 victory.
