Chris Holtmann’s Ohio State basketball team has been playing ‘small’ ball the last two games and half of another, and it has been successful. A 75-54 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers and last night’s 77-63 victory over the Michigan Wolverines have the Buckeyes ranked No. 19 in this week’s AP Poll.
After Kyle Young suffered an injury, coach Holtmann has had to rely on a three-guard lineup. Alonzo Gaffney has also been out with an illness. So when Kaleb Wesson has taken a seat, every Ohio State player who has been on the floor is listed 6-foot-6 or shorter, except for Ibrihima Diallo who played two minutes in the blowout win over Nebraska.
