When the Big Ten/ACC Challenge match-ups were announced this past week, Ohio State received news that they would be playing one of the top teams in the country from last season.
The Virginia Cavaliers, who just won the ACC regular season title, will come to Columbus on December 1st, 2015. They entered March Madness as a two-seed in the tournament, and eventually lost to Michigan State. The Cavaliers finished the year ranked 6th in the AP poll.
This is not good news to what will be a young Ohio State team searching for an identity. Virginia is bringing back just about everyone from last season, and ESPN’s “way-too-early” preseason rankings have the Cavs listed as the #2 team in the country.
