It didn’t decide the game, but a clear missed call helped No. 20 Purdue extend a late lead in a 76-75 win against Ohio State at Value City Arena.
With the Boilermakers ahead 70-67 in the final moments, Buckeyes guard C.J. Jackson saw a potentially tying three-point look from the right wing just rim out. Purdue brought the ball up the court but couldn’t get a good look against the Ohio State defense when the ball found its way to Carsen Edwards underneath the basket at the end of the shot clock.
Replays clearly confirmed what it looked like in real time – that he didn’t get the shot off before the shot clock expired – but Edwards corralled his own missed shot and laid it in with 2:17 left to push it back to a two-possession lead for the Boilermakers.
