Ohio State was down by nine points in the second half against Northwestern and it appeared that the Buckeyes were on their way to a third straight loss. Coach Thad Matta went to a full court press, his young guys got on a roll and Ohio State defeated the Wildcats 71-63. Why did it take so long to dial up the pressure?
Ohio State obviously has the long lanky guys and plenty of athleticism to make a full court trapping defense a formidable weapon. Why not use it in the middle of a game when the score is close but the team is not playing at a high level.
