Ohio State basketball assistant Mike Schrage to become Elon head coach

On Friday, it was announced that Ohio State Buckeyes men’s basketball assistant coach Mike Schrage would be leaving Columbus to take over as the head coach of Elon University. Schrage served as an assistant under Chris Holtmann for a season at Butler before joining him at Ohio State in the summer of 2017.

A new era starts today.

Before becoming a part of Holtmann’s staff, Schrage coached for eight seasons at Stanford under Johnny Dawkins, and as a part of Mike Krzyzweski’s staff at Duke from 1999-2008.
