Thad Matta's men's basketball staff grew by two names Wednesday.
Ohio State's head coach officially announced the hire of former Buckeyes assistant and Charlotte head coach Alan Major to director of recruiting and player development. CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported the hire Monday.
"Alan has many skills and talents above and beyond those he’s utilized as a coach over the years," Matta said in a press release. "I want him to help us develop a complete and well-rounded student-athlete. Alan is the perfect fit for this position."
According to the press release, among Major's responsibilities in his new position will be to coordinate a plan for each player to "maximize their potential as a basketball player, student and human being.
