Football player Jacoby Boren and rower Catherine Shields were named Tuesday night as Ohio State’s winners of the Big Ten’s Medal of Honor, awarded annually to two athletes from each conference school to recognize academic and athletic excellence.
Boren, a Pickerington Central product, made 28 consecutive starts at center for Ohio State and was a key member of the Buckeyes’ 2014 national-championship team. He is a two-time academic all-American and a three-time academic all-Big Ten selection.
