Columbus: Ohio State did what it was supposed to do Saturday in a 24-20 home win over Northwestern.
That it took a 3-yard touchdown run by Curtis Samuel with 9:43 left to give Ohio State the lead for good at 24-17 and a stop in the red zone after that should send up red flags.
Northwestern did muster a field goal on the drive, but J.T. Barrett and Co. were able to salt away the clock.
“We’re kind of a dogfight team I guess,” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said. “That’s fine. It builds a little character.
