Ohio College Football Insider | Weather tackles Kent State again

During a storm that produced a deluge and a lightning show that was better than any fireworks show, Kent State coaches and players had to have that here-we-go-again feeling in the hours leading to their scheduled opener at Illinois on Friday night.

After a three-hour wait, officials decided to postpone the game until Saturday. Illinois won 52-3.

In November 2014, a Kent State game at Buffalo was canceled because of a snowstorm.

Coach Paul Haynes again played the part of travel agent this past weekend.

“The biggest thing was Friday night,” he said. “It was hard to find 100 hotel rooms that late.
