INDIANAPOLIS — Adolphus Washington was remorseful about the suspension that ended his Ohio State career prematurely.
The defensive tackle was suspended for the Fiesta Bowl after he was arrested for solicitation on Dec. 10. Washington was carrying a gun — legally — at the time, but having a weapon is a violation of one of Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer’s “core values.”
“First off, I just want to apologize to Buckeye Nation, to my teammates, to my family,” Washington said on Friday at the NFL combine. “I made a really dumb, impulsive decision and had to pay the penalty for it.
