In a move that typically splits the fanbase between hardcore traditionalists and those who favor a more modern look, Ohio State has worn an alternate uniform every season since 2009 as part of its contract with Nike.
The Buckeyes have been outfitted in everything from all-black uniforms to throwbacks honoring past national championship teams and the first three-time All-American in program history, but there's no denying a fan favorite was the Rivalry set (2012-14), which featured a chrome helmet with an oversized helmet stripe and reflective helmet stickers.
Naturally, Ohio State and its apparel partners are trying to capitalize on that, which is why they'll release a chrome version of the standard helmet on Aug.
