Nuge is back in the NFL.
The New England Patriots are signing recent Ohio State Hall of Fame inductee Mike Nugent to be their new kicker, according to reports by ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Nugent, who had not been on an NFL roster this season after kicking in three games for the Oakland Raiders last season, replaces longtime Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski, who was placed on injured reserve by the Patriots on Wednesday with a hip injury.
Ohio State's all-time leader in career points (356), career field goals (72) and single-season field goals (28), a two-time consensus All-American and the 2004 Lou Groza Award winner, Nugent was inducted into Ohio State's Athletic Hall of Fame in September.
