Tomasello went to Romania and took the gold medal at the Ion Cornianu & Ladislau Simon 2017 at 57 kg on Saturday, defeating the Romanian Olympian, Ivan Guydia, on his way to the title.
The Buckeye captain is heading into his senior campaign with a national title and three All-American finishes to his credit and can now lay claim to a gold medal earned in his first international tournament. Tomasello went 4-0 on the day, outscoring his opponents 31-8 to make the championship bout.
