The Memphis Grizzlies made it known. They wanted to retain free agent All-Star point guard Mike Conley, their conductor, and now they have.
Conley agreed to a five-year, $153 million contract with the Memphis Grizzlies late Friday night. ESPN reporter Marc Stein first confirmed the news. The deal is reportedly the largest contract in NBA history.
The Grizzlies, who drafted Conley with the 4th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, are the only team for which the former Ohio State point guard has played. As such, they were able to offer him the most lucrative contract, which Conley couldn't ignore.
