Just a day after the surprising news of Daniel Giddens’ transfer, Thad Matta and the Buckeyes lost another player to a potential transfer. Per Scout.com‘s Evan Daniels, Mickey Mitchell has asked out of his scholarship at Ohio State, with the intent to head to another program.
Mitchell’s short career in Columbus had a rather rocky beginning when he missed the first 11 games of the season due to an eligibility issue with the NCAA. After finally gaining his eligibility, Mitchell slowly earned more playing time as the season went on. He would eventually earn a starting job over the last 7 games of the season when Jae’Sean Tate was lost for the season.
