Tony Alford could be leaving Ohio State for its archrival.
As first reported by Football Scoop’s John Brice, Michigan is targeting Ohio State’s longtime running backs coach to be its new running backs coach. A source told Eleven Warriors that Alford is likely to take the job.
Alford has been Ohio State’s running backs coach since 2015. He is the second-longest-tenured assistant on the Buckeyes’ coaching staff behind only defensive line coach Larry Johnson, who joined Ohio State in 2014.
Alford would replace Mike Hart, who was not retained by new Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore, as the Wolverines’ new running backs coach.
