The Ohio State men's tennis team swept No. 15 Illinois 4-0 on Sunday to claim the Big Ten regular-season title outright and become the first conference team to go through the regular season without dropping a point.
The fifth-ranked Buckeyes (27-2) swept all 11 conference opponents 4-0 this season and have won outright Big Ten championships in 10 of the past 11 seasons.
Mikael Torpegaard, the nation's top-ranked player, defeated Jared Hiltzik 6-3, 6-4 in singles, and Torpegaard teamed with Herkko Pollanen to beat Hiltzik and Pengxuan Jiang 6-3 in doubles.
Pollanen and Ralf Steinbach also won singles matches.
