The Ohio State men’s hockey team lost its first seven games and was still reeling when it went to Florida at the end of December.
There, in the land of palm trees, the Buckeyes found their game. Now on a roll, the Buckeyes enter the Big Ten tournament beginning today in St. Paul, Minnesota, brimming with confidence.
OSU coach Steve Rohlik smiled when asked why Florida sparked the turnaround.
“Eighty-seven degrees and shorts and flip-flops,” he said. “I think the guys enjoyed their time down there and had kind of a bonding experience. Winning some games, with some nice weather, really went a long way for our team.
