MADISON, Wis. — The regular season promises at least 1,240 minutes of action for Ohio State this year. That exact figure wasn’t on Kam Williams’ mind on Thursday night at Wisconsin, where the Buckeyes had just taken a 79-68 loss in a historically hostile venue that seemed surprisingly subdued.
The concept of time weighed heavily on the sophomore, though — and specifically its importance. Losers of two straight and four of their past six, the Buckeyes later flew home closer to the Big Ten cellar than to the ceiling for the first time all season.
It wasn’t a blowout loss like those against Maryland, Indiana and Connecticut, but it was another night in which Ohio State didn’t make enough key plays to earn a win that could push them closer to a spot in the NCAA tournament.
