What a difference a week makes. After taking a 20-point loss on the chin at Connecticut, Ohio State was celebrating in New York seven days later after an upset of No. 4 Kentucky. The victory was the Buckeyes’ first as an unranked team against a top-five team since Matt Sylvester’s three-pointer knocked off undefeated and No. 1 Illinois on March 6, 2005, and it also marked a third victory in four games after a sluggish home victory against Northern Illinois. Away from the court, freshman Austin Grandstaff left the program and freshman Mickey Mitchell was granted his eligibility in between the games.
