Keita Bates-Diop heard the same questions as the rest of us. As player after player transferred from Ohio State and assistant coach Jeff Boals left for a head coaching job following a difficult 2015-16 season, Bates-Diop was wondering, too.

What exactly was going on with the Buckeyes?

“It was a weird couple of weeks just because we didn’t know who was going to be here and all that,” Bates-Diop said today.

Now they know, and it includes a fully healthy Bates-Diop. After a bout of mononucleosis knocked him from the lineup for Ohio State’s two games in the NIT, Bates-Diop sat on a rolling chair inside the team’s practice gym today with the message that all is now well – both within the program and his own body.
