MADISON, Wis. -- Ohio State got off to a slow start, Wisconsin buried a season-high 13 three-pointers and the Badgers climbed ahead of the Buckeyes in the middle of the Big Ten standings with a 79-68 win in the Kohl Center.
Wisconsin (14-9, 6-4) stretched its lead to a game-high 12 points when Alex Illikainen hit a three-pointer with 9:17 left to make it a 62-50 lead, but Ohio State coach Thad Matta called a timeout and switched things up. With the Badgers raining threes, he went to a small lineup without a center and 6-4 sophomore forward Jae’Sean Tate essentially manning the paint.
