Marla Ridenour: How special is Ohio State-Notre Dame matchup? In 1995, bathroom lines told the tale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.: If there is any question about the magnitude of Ohio State’s football meetings with Notre Dame, the line for the ladies restroom at Ohio Stadium in 1995 proved a true indicator.

Stunningly, there was no line.

The two Midwest powerhouses had not played for 59 years. It was a game for fathers and sons, grandfathers and grandsons. A day when no one missed kickoff.

As I sat high in “C” deck just in front of the press box and scanned the crowd of 95,537, I was among the few women there.
