On Monday evening, the Heisman Trust announced the 2019 finalists for their award. The group that will be traveling to New York City for the award’s ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 14 will be LSU Tigers’ quarterback Joe Burrow, Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields and defensive end Chase Young, and Oklahoma Sooners’ quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Since 1982 when the Heisman started inviting finalists to New York, Ohio State has had FIVE finalists, which is tied with Florida for fourth most. This year’s finalists also mean that the SEC and Big Ten are now tied for the most finalists at 31.
