J.T. Barrett won't be driving anytime soon.
Columbus Municipal Court Judge H. William Pollitt Jr. suspended J.T. Barrett's license on Tuesday morning for 180 days as part of Barrett's punishment for his OVI citation early Halloween morning. Barrett must also pay a $400 fine and complete a three-day alcohol education program. His charge for backing without safety was dismissed.
"I apologize to the Ohio State football program and Buckeye Nation," Barrett said in a brief statement before Pollitt Jr., a former middle linebacker for legendary Ohio State coach Woody Hayes.
The 20-year-old Barrett pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
