After a couple of early lapses, Jeremiah Smith was the star of the show in his Ohio State debut, making multiple gorgeous grabs with his first two career touchdowns in Ohio State’s 52-6 win over Akron.
Alongside the play of the freshman receiver, Ohio State's defense stood out on Saturday, both in the havoc it created with three turnovers – two that went for touchdowns, one by Lathan Ransom and one by Gabe Powers – and in the depth it flexed on the defensive line and at linebacker.
