Ohio State was down by two points at halftime to a Rutgers team that had no business even making the game close. After coach Thad Matta had a talk with the young team, the Buckeyes came out in the second half and ran the Scarlet Knights out of the gym.
As usual, they did it with their great individual talent. Not that Ohio State is a selfish team, it’s just that quite often the players are having difficulty understanding that making the correct play can be more important than making an outstanding play.
Fortunately Rutgers was an overmatched team from an athletic standpoint, so when the young Buckeyes would play out of control their talent allowed them to make up for their mistakes.
