Hero Kanu is in Ohio State's starting lineup for the first time in his career.
The redshirt sophomore defensive tackle took the field at 3-technique defensive tackle in place of an injured Tyleik Williams for the Buckeyes' first defensive series against Marshall on Saturday.
Kanu is a third-year player from the village of Geltendorf, Germany. He saw sparing use in 2023, picking up 10 tackles and a sack in just 90 snaps. He's played the fourth-most snaps of any defensive tackle and the second-most of those who are primarily 3-techs, with 16 snaps in the Buckeyes' first two games.
