In a bit of a surprise, Ohio State's found their new defensive coordinator in an unlikely place.
Former Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano will be named Ohio State associate head coach/defensive coordinator, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. A source had told SB Nation earlier in the week the two sides were talking and expected things to trend this way. Bruce Feldman also confirmed the reports.
Chris Ash, Ohio State's co-defensive coordinator for the last two seasons and defensive play caller, is taking over at Schiano's old stomping grounds in Piscataway following OSU's Battlefrog Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame.
