Ohio State players contemplated the question as if it were inconceivable.
What would it be like if the Buckeyes lost seven straight games, as Michigan State did this season?
Senior center Pat Elflein searched the deep recesses of his brain for a moment.
“If we lost seven games?” he said before pausing. “It would be a bad deal. A lot of people would be very upset. I don’t even want to think about that. I don’t think it would ever happen.”
It never has at Ohio State. The Buckeyes lost their final four games of the 2011 season in Luke Fickell’s one season as head coach.
