COLUMBUS, Ohio -- It would have been so Ohio State to have earned a verbal commitment from four-star quarterback Jarrett Guarantano of Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic on Wednesday.
The Buckeyes are the national home of quarterback controversy, and Guarantano's announcement came only hours after Ohio State landed fellow 2016 quarterback Tristen Wallace of DeSoto, Texas.
But Guarantano didn't fuel the Ohio State quarterback controversy fire even more, announcing his commitment to Tennessee over his other two finalists, Rutgers and the Buckeyes.
Rated in the 247Sports composite rankings the No. 6 pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class, Guarantano earned more than 40 scholarship offers before narrowing it down to a final three.
