Nate Ebner is heading to New York.
The former Ohio State safety, best known for his contributions on special teams both at Ohio State and with the NFL's New England Patriots, is leaving the Patriots after eight seasons to sign with the New York Giants, according to multiple reports. The news was first reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Ebner's contract with the Giants, which is contingent on him passing a physical that has not yet taken place, is a one-year deal according to Giants.com's Michael Eisen.
In eight years with the Patriots, in which he played almost exclusively on special teams – just as he did for the Buckeyes – Ebner recorded 95 total tackles and helped the Patriots win three Super Bowls.
