By transferring to Cincinnati, Stokes joins a secondary led by former Ohio State defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs, who helped recruit Stokes to become a Buckeye before his departure from the staff after the 2021 season.
Stokes, who brings three years of eligibility to Cincinnati, showed big promise during his first spring as a Buckeye in 2022 when he was the first member of his recruiting class to lose his black stripe and had a standout spring game performance.
