Former Ohio State Defensive End, National Championship Hero Jack Sawyer to Throw Out First Pitch at Cleveland Guardians Home Opener

Jack Sawyer is continuing to enjoy the spoils that come with Ohio State football legend status.

The former defensive end, who made a play that will stand the test of time on the Buckeyes' College Football Playoff national championship run, will throw out the first pitch at the Cleveland Guardians' home opener against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

Sawyer collected 59 tackles, nine sacks, an interception, seven pass breakups, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns in 2024, the latter his famed 83-yard scoop-and-score to seal a CFP semifinal win over Texas.
