Akron resident Tom Cousineau, a former Browns linebacker who became the first Ohio State player selected No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft, was selected as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2016 on Friday.
The announcement was made jointly with the National Football Foundation in Scottsdale, Ariz., as part of the lead-up to Monday’s College Football Playoff national championship.
Fourteen players and two coaches will be formally inducted Dec. 6 at the NFF Awards dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Cousineau will be the 25th Buckeye enshrined.
