Ex-Ohio State coach Jim Tressel to be honored Saturday

Ohio State will honor former coach Jim Tressel during its Saturday game against Northern Illinois, despite his involvement in the 2011 memorabilia selling scandal.

According Eleven Warriors, the event will recognize Tressel’s recent induction into both the College football and Ohio State Hall of Fames.

Tressel was a championship coach who led Ohio State’s football team to a national championship during the 2002 season and won 94 games in his 10-year tenure.

However, his career with the college came to a halt after the NCAA discovered Tressel had withheld information during an investigation of players suspected of selling memorabilia and receiving illegal benefits.
