ESPN Plans Weeklong Coverage of Ohio State–Michigan Spanning More than 40 Hours of Programming

Saturday's clash between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan is shaping up to be an epic.

ESPN, broadcasting their final version of “The Game” before Fox takes over next season, will dedicate more than 40 hours of coverage to the affair, which is expected to determine a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The network's “A crew” of Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit, along with Samantha Ponder and Tom Rinaldi working the sidelines, will cover the game, with more than 50 cameras positioned inside Ohio Stadium. In addition to typical game footage, other angles and footage will include:

  • Skycam and goal posts cameras
  • All eight end zone pylons will be equipped with four cameras each
  • Four super slow-motion cameras
  • Areial footage from above Ohio Stadium

Prior to the game, ESPN will air a special five-hour edition of College GameDay, marking the 15th time the iconic program will broadcast live from Columbus and the sixth time the program has aired live from the site of The Game (1997, 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2007).
