Dwayne Haskins Named Finalist for Heisman Trophy

Dwayne Haskins is headed to New York.

Ohio State's starting quarterback was named Monday night as one of three finalists for this year's Heisman Trophy, along with Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray and Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Haskins is the first Ohio State player to be invited to the Heisman Trophy ceremony since former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith won the award in 2006.

In his first season as Ohio State's starting quarterback, Haskins has rewritten the school's single-season passing record books, completing 348 of 496 passing attempts for 4,580 yards and 47 touchdowns – both Big Ten records – with only eight interceptions, all the while leading the Buckeyes to a 12-1 record, a Big Ten championship and a berth in the Rose Bowl, where Ohio State will conclude its season by playing Washington on Jan.
