The two key starters who missed Week 1 for Ohio State are available for use in Week 2, though whether they play won't be decided until kickoff.
Left guard Donovan Jackson and Mike linebacker Cody Simon, veteran starters who missed the Buckeyes' season-opening win over Akron, are available for Saturday's game against Western Michigan, per a spokesperson for Ohio State. Both are game-time decisions to play in the contest, however.
Jackson and Simon both went through warmups before Ohio State played the Zips and Ryan Day said both were practicing on Wednesday. The return of Jackson and Simon to the starting lineup would be a welcome one as the Buckeyes try to build toward a national championship in 2024.
