Ohio State defenseman Lauren Boyle has been named to the WCHA’s All-Rookie team. She was one of four blueliners to skate in all 36 games this season. With the Buckeyes’ defense corps battered right out of the gate, she skated a yeoman’s minutes almost from the start.
In addition to her fine play on the back end, the Eden Prairie, Minnesota native showcased some impressive offensive skills. She collected two assists in her first collegiate game, a 5-1 victory in the season opener at Lindenwood. Later in October she racked up a four-assist series against Minnesota State and was named the conference’s Rookie of the Week.
