INDIANAPOLIS – Damon Arnette could have already participated in the NFL Scouting Combine last year.
Arnette nearly declared for the 2019 NFL draft until a last-minute conversation with Ohio State great Cris Carter, followed by a subsequent conversation with then-new Ohio State secondary coach Jeff Hafley, convinced him to stay with the Buckeyes for one more year.
More than a year later, and now that he has started the process of becoming an NFL player, Arnette is still thankful he made that decision, believing his improvement over the past year – both as a football player and as a person – has made him much more prepared to begin his professional career than he would have been a year ago.
