Ezekiel Elliott’s time with the Dallas Cowboys appears to be coming to an end.
Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Wednesday morning that “the Cowboys are set to part ways with the two-time NFL rushing champ and the running back is preparing to start fresh with a new team.” Per Hill’s report, Elliott could be released as soon as Wednesday afternoon, though he will be designated as a post-June 1 cut by the Cowboys for salary cap purposes.
Several other NFL insiders, including NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, have also reported that Elliott’s release is likely coming soon.
