Connecticut Sun take Ohio State’s Shayla Cooper 13th in 2017 WNBA Draft

For the second consecutive year, the Ohio State women’s basketball team watched as one of its members had her name called on draft night. Shayla Cooper, who just completed her senior season for the Buckeyes, was selected by the Connecticut Sun with the No. 13 pick in the WNBA draft on Thursday night.

Cooper, a native of Norcross, GA who transferred to Ohio State from Georgetown, was the lone senior for the 2016-17 squad. She ranked third on the team in scoring at 10.5 points per game, second in rebounding at 6.7 per game, and dished out 2.
