Before Wittenberg coach Joe Fincham began assessing how his team played, he nodded in the direction of his opponent's bench and made a prognostication.
The 17thth-ranked Tigers had just defeated Capital 38-27 on the strength of quarterback Zack Jenkins throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns and tailback Jimmy Dehnke running for 177 yards before a near capacity crowd Saturday at Bernlohr Stadium.
“I think Capital is a much-improved football team from what we saw in film exchanges from games late last season,'' Fincham said. “What were they predicted to finish in the OAC? Eighth, right? Unless something drastically happens, I highly doubt that will happen.
