With plenty of sloppy performances on the season, they finally caught up with Ohio State Saturday afternoon, as they lost to Michigan State on senior day in Columbus, 17-14. As a result, the Buckeyes fell to No. 8 in the latest Amway Coaches Poll.
Clemson and Alabama were the usual suspects atop the poll at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. Notre Dame moved into the top three after a narrow win at Boston College, with the help of a Baylor win over Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Iowa moved into the top five in the Coaches Poll for the first time all season.
