ATHENS, Ohio – The annual unveiling of the Ohio University football team to local media is the day coach Frank Solich gives his state-of-the-Bobcats speech with regard to strengths, weaknesses and general health of the program.
Solich, who would rather be in practice, the video room or weight room, seldom says anything that makes anyone move closer to the podium for better recording.
On this day, though, Solich might as well have been John F. Kennedy saying he wanted to put a man on the moon.
The Bobcats are planning to be rambler gamblers this season on both sides of the ball, in that fourth-and-short yardage might not necessarily bring on the punt or field goal kicking teams and that opposing offenses had better look out for low-flying tacklers from every angle.
