Two weeks ago, Toledo linebacker Ja’Wuan Woodley was at the bottom of a heap of bodies and in great pain during a game against Northern Illinois.
ESPN announcers wondered whether Woodley would be able to continue. He did more than get back on his feet and run to the sideline: Woodley was credited with 11 total tackles, three for loss, in the Rockets’ 32-27 loss.
“That was just a little friendly fire coming my way,” Woodley said. “It was just two guys going after the ball. You deal with it and move on. Those things happen all of the time; that’s football.
